Tasty low calorie sides for your Thanksgiving dinner


















Thanksgiving is here and with the kick off of the Holiday season, trying to eat healthy can be a real task.  Before you go mixing up all those high calorie sides, check out these low calorie alternatives that taste just as yummy but lower in calories.

Apple Cranberry Stuffing


Yield: 6-8 servings

  • 4 cups whole wheat bread, cubed
  • 4 cups white bread, cubed
  • 1 tbs. olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 2 tsp. chopped fresh sage
  • 1 tsp. chopped fresh thyme
  • 3 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries, roughly chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbs. butter
